How honest is this?
The planet positions and the Moon's phase are computed from real astronomy (VSOP87 planetary theory and ELP2000 lunar theory). The sunset, twilight, and altitude figures are good approximations: they assume a flat, unobstructed horizon at sea level and do not account for your local terrain, buildings, atmospheric refraction beyond a standard value, light pollution, or weather. Treat the minute marks as “about” and the visibility as “should be findable, sky permitting.” All times shown are in your local time zone.

AstroPrecise has no back-end collecting your data, no analytics scripts, and no advertising trackers. Your tonight-sky is calculated entirely in your browser.
- Your coordinates are processed locally and never transmitted to us.
- If you search a city, only the place name you type is sent to a public geocoder — never your exact position or the date.
- Geolocation is only used if you tap “Use my location” — and the result stays on your device.
- No login, no account, no cookies required to see tonight's sky.
