Privacy Policy

Astro Precise is built privacy-first. Your birth details, charts, and readings are computed and stored on your own device. We have no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising trackers, and we never sell your data. The exceptions — when you choose them — are joining our email list or buying from the shop.
Who we are
This site is operated by Astro Precise, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, contact hello@astroprecise.app.
What happens on your device
The astronomy and the readings run entirely in your browser. Your name, birth date, birth time, and chart results are processed locally and saved in your browser’s localStorage so the site can remember your chart between visits. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Information you give us directly
If you join our email list, we receive only the email address you submit (and optional tags such as which page you signed up from). Signups are handled by our newsletter service at list.astroprecise.app (a Cloudflare Worker with encrypted storage). We use your address to send updates you asked for and to notify us of new subscribers. Unsubscribe any time via the link in any email, or contact us to access or erase your data.
If you buy a personalised product, we receive what you submit to complete your order — typically your email address and, for a personalised reading, the birth data you provide (date, time, place). We use this only to deliver what you purchased. We keep order records as long as needed for tax and support, and delete fulfilment data once your order is complete and any refund window has passed.
Other information that leaves your browser
To provide certain features, your browser contacts third-party services. For the items below we do not receive your birth chart or reading content:
- Place search — when you type a birth city, the place text (and, if you use the map, the coordinates) is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service to look up coordinates and timezone. Your name, birth date and birth time are not included.
- Live sky data — the Instrument page fetches public space-weather readings from NOAA SWPC and, for the “quantum draw”, a random number from the ANU Quantum RNG. These requests carry no personal information.
- Fonts & (optional) map tiles — typefaces are self-hosted (bundled with the site); if you open the optional “refine on map” pin, map tiles load from OpenStreetMap/Carto. As with any web request, these providers receive your IP address and standard request headers.
Cookies & tracking
We set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising scripts. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for your own chart and preferences, described above.
Payments
Shop checkout is handled by PayPal on PayPal’s own secure pages. We never see or store your card details. PayPal’s privacy policy governs payment processing. After paying, the birth details needed for a personalised piece are collected through a secure Typeform — never on this site. Tips via Ko-fi are governed by Ko-fi’s terms.
Your rights
Chart and preference data on your device is under your control — clear site data in your browser to erase it. For email signups and orders, where the UK GDPR or similar laws apply you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection. Contact hello@astroprecise.app and we will respond within one month.
Children
Astro Precise is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
