Privacy Policy

AstroPrecise is built privacy-first. Your birth details, charts, and readings are computed and stored on your own device. We have no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising trackers, and we never sell your data — because, in almost every case, we never receive it.

Who we are

This site is operated by AstroPrecise, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, contact jonnydavx@gmail.com.

What happens on your device

The astronomy and the readings run entirely in your browser. Your name, birth date, birth time, and chart results are processed locally and saved in your browser’s localStorage so the site can remember your chart between visits. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

The only information that leaves your browser

To provide certain features, your browser contacts a small number of third-party services directly. We do not operate servers of our own and do not see these requests:

• Place search — when you type a birth city, the place text (and, if you use the map, the coordinates) is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service to look up coordinates and timezone. Your name, birth date and birth time are not included.
• Live sky data — the Instrument page fetches public space-weather readings from NOAA SWPC and, for the “quantum draw”, a random number from the ANU Quantum RNG. These requests carry no personal information.
• Fonts & (optional) map tiles — typefaces are self-hosted (bundled with the site); if you open the optional “refine on map” pin, map tiles load from OpenStreetMap/Carto. As with any web request, these providers receive your IP address and standard request headers.

Cookies & tracking

We set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising scripts. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for your own chart and preferences, described above.

Payments

If and when paid products are offered, checkout is handled entirely by a reputable third-party payment provider (for example Stripe or Gumroad) on their own secure pages. We never see or store your card details. That provider’s privacy policy governs the payment, and this policy will be updated to name the provider when payments go live.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf — you are in direct control via your browser. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, you retain your rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection; contact us and we will help with anything within our control.

Children

AstroPrecise is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
